The Echo Shear Wave UT Couplant is a high-viscosity flowable couplant with sufficient bulk and shear modules at ambient temperatures to support the coupling of shear waves and guided waves. This ultrasonic couplant transmits normal incidence (zero degree) shear waves, is water-soluble, and is easily applied and removed.
A small amount of Echo Shear Wave Couplant should be placed on the face of the transducer or the test piece and then pressed into a thin layer. For optimum coupling, it is important that the couplant layer be thin.
Advantages:
- Water soluble and easily removed with wet or dry wiping or water wash.
- Contains no VOCs, naptha, oil, hydrocarbons, glycerin, glycols, silicones, petroleum distillates, dyes or fragrance.
